PITS is one of the very few institutions in India to have extensive as well as rare sports facilities and an exclusive Students Centre for Indoor Games. The wide range of Sports facilities include: Football, Hockey, Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball, Fencing, Ball Badminton, Beach Volleyball, shuttle Badminton, Table Tennis, Tennis, Squash, Billiards, Snooker, Carom, Chess, Boxing, Fencing, Roller Skate Hockey, Kho-Kho, Kabadi, swimming, archery and Rifle Shooting . Separate Gym facilities are available for boys and girls.

The Football, Cricket and Hockey Courts are grass-turfed. These grounds are watered by ten high-powered "rain-guns" that sprays rain up to a distance of 160 feet. All play facilities are flood-lit.
